Breaking the Ice

Seeing how I am new to this whole blogging thing, I figured it would be good to play a get-to-know-you game.

Two truths and a lie, here we go.

1) I have sung soprano in General Conference

2) I have been interrogated by the police for arson

3) I have been attacked by a trained police dog

Think about it for a minute, the answers/explanations are in the comment section.

  1. Surprise! They're all true. I couldn't resist.

    Explanation:

    1) October, 2005 Priesthood Session. My brother and I were excited when we heard that we could sing in General Conference, the only downer was they only had open spots in the Sorprano section. My falsetto improved dramatically.

    2) In 7th grade I was a bit of a shifty student. Someone had thought it would be funny to melt the slides of the elementary school adjacent to our Jr. High.

To my surprise, one day I was pulled out of my English class and taken to a boardroom - it was just like in the movies when an interrogator is on one end of a table and innocent me on the other end.

He proceeded to ask me a bunch of questions and told me the consequences if he discovered I was lying.

I was scared out of my mind that day. I cried when I told my mom about my day.

    3) I was serving in Colchester. There was a family that we got along with very well. They just happened to own a vicious/retired police dog named, Tyson.

This family would always try to motivate us to do better by challenging us to bring a certain number of investigators to their home for an activity. The deal was, if we brought enough investigators, great. But, if we didn't, we would have to do a "forfeit".

After we lost a particularly difficult challenge, my punishment was being in a room alone with Tyson for two mintues - blindfolded.

After preparing myself mentally and spiritually, I then got ready physically (by putting on a one of those thick, dog protection body-suits).

Then, Tyson was let loose. It's all on video. I'll post it sometime.

  2. Hah! You were never a shifty guy in jr. high; and Mom was SO mad that they interrogated you! I want to see the video of the police dog. =)
